This analyzer uses dry pad urine chemistry technology. The Urinalysis WAM software is a specialized rules based program designed to collect data for analysis and reporting. Each rack holds up to ten samples and the system can hold a maximum of ten racks for a total of 100 specimens. Select each checkbox to learn more about sample processing. Samples Transported to NovusHTML To initiate processing, the start button is selected on the track.  The first rack of samples advance into place and are transported to the CLINITEK Novus® analyzer. There the barcode is scanned to verify the identity of the sample. The automated pipette will position itself and draw the appropriate amount of sample for analysis. Nine chemistries plus specific gravity, color and clarity are performed using the reagent cassette test pads and SG well. Results Sent to WAMHTML Test results go directly to the Urinalysis WAM workstation. If the results are positive, the workstation flags the sample for appropriate additional testing on the Sysmex UF-1000i™ analyzer. If results are negative, the workstation instructs the Sysmex UF-1000i analyzer to skip that particular sample when the rack arrives. Samples Transported to UF-1000iHTML Samples are then routed to the Sysmex UF-1000i™ analyzer.  Barcodes are scanned and matched with workflow instructions forwarded from the Urinalysis WAM workstation. The pipette lowers into the sample and mixes it thoroughly to distribute sediment evenly before drawing a sample for testing. Once inside the system, the sample is heated to dissolve any amorphous urates and then aspirated into the flow cell for analysis. Flow cytometry cluster analysis provides classification and enumeration of formed elements.  The UF-1000i analyzer identifies ten urine parameters; five of which are enumerated and the rest are flagged. Results Sent to WAMHTML Results from the Sysmex UF-1000i™ analyzer are sent to the Urinalysis WAM workstation where they are combined with the CLINITEK Novus® analyzer results. Samples Transported to Output QueueHTML After the last sample in the rack has been tested by the Sysmex UF-1000i™ analyzer, the entire rack is transported to the output queue to complete the run. When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.
