The risk factors that are associated with DDH are: the female sex.  DDH is four to eight times more common in females, due to an increase in estrogen.  Family history; neonates with a family history of a sibling with DDH have a 6% chance of developing developmental dysplasia of the hip and neonates with a family history of appearance with DDH have a 12% chance of developing the disease.  Breach presentation, multiple gestations and physicians will refer an infant in for a hip ultrasound, if a hip clip is found on the clinical exam.   The Status Log displays warning messages which help you troubleshoot the system. Review the messages in the Status Log to identify the causes for a Not Ready status.   Status Log Learn about the Status Log. Tab TitleTextYellow A yellow warning message requires you to take an action before patient testing can begin. Example: The cassette is empty To troubleshoot a yellow warning message: Select the message in the Status log Read the details of the message Select OK Perform the corrective action steps provided in the details.  White A white warning message indicates that a warning condition exists. Patient samples can be run on the system. Example: The number of tests remaining is low.   When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.   The transverse view or position is used to show the stability of the hip.  The stress method or the Barlow maneuver which is the real time ultrasound imaging can be performed in this view, where the femur is flexed and adducted while applying posterior pressure.  In the transverse view, the infant is in an oblique position, the knee is flexed 90 degrees and the transducer is rotated 90 degrees from the coronal plane.  The femoral head should be centered on the tri-radiate cartilage.  Again this is the view where the stress or the Barlow maneuver can be performed.   The SG Well must be cleaned every twenty-four hours.
