This function makes it possible to obtain a result on the first attempt thus minimizing repeats.   When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.    Sample Processing on the Sysmex® CS-5100 system involves a series of fast movements including: Dispensed aliquot cuvette Test cuvette incubated Reagents added Test cuvette analyzed in Detector Test and aliquot cuvettes to cuvette trash box Sample Processing Sequence Watch the sample processing sequence.   Select the play arrow to begin the video. Samples in the detector will continue to be measured even after the mechanical stop switch is pressed. Select Next to continue.4 Sampler Automatically transports sample racks to the aspiration position Continuous loading of sample racks Load up to 100 samples Capped and uncapped tubes in same rack   Select Next to continue.    The sampler automatically transports sample racks to the aspiration position during sample processing. Racks can be loaded continuously and up to 100 samples can be loaded at a time. Once the samples are aspirated, the rack is moved to the left side of the sampler where it can be removed. Select Next to continue.5 Cuvette hopper Holds 1000 cuvettes Supplies cuvettes for sample processing System alerts when cuvettes running low or empty Load cuvettes anytime   Select Next to continue.     The cuvette hopper holds up to 1000 cuvettes and supplies them to the system for sample processing. The Sysmex® CS-5100 system will alert the operator when cuvettes are running low or are empty. Cuvettes can be added to the hopper at anytime. Even during processing! It is located behind a door on the right side of the instrument. The halogen lamp uses a filter wheel to disperse the light into 5 different wavelengths. Congratulations. Sample arm A is a cap piercer and is used to aspirate and dispense samples and controls for normal mode testing. Sample arm B is a non cap piercer and is used for secondary dispensing of the sample and for micro mode testing. Sample arm B aspirates and dispenses samples, controls, calibrators and buffers. It is a circular wheel that holds 10 reagent racks and has 40 positions available for cleaners, reagents, controls, and calibrators. Automatic positive reagent identification is provided by a barcode reader. The reagent table is cooled to 10 degrees Celsius which provides excellent reagent onboard stability. The stat buffer table is located on the front of the analyzer. It has 5 diluent positions and 5 stat sample positions which are at room temperature. This area also utilizes an automatic barcode reading function to identify diluents and stat samples. All the reagent probes are heated to 37 degrees Celsius and quickly warm the reagents before dispensing. Reagent arm A is located to the right of the Reagent table. Reagent arm A dispenses the activator reagent into the sample cuvette. Reagent arm B and C are located behind the back cover and are not seen by the operator. Reagent arm B dispenses the trigger reagent to the sample cuvette. Reagent arm C dispenses the Thrombin reagent for the Fibrinogen assay. This table is used to hold the sample aliquots dispensed by Sample arm A for normal mode testing. Dispensing table B is located on the right side next to the hopper. This table supplies cuvettes to Sample arm B for primary dispensing during micro mode and secondary dispensing during normal mode. Callouts Incubator Tube Supply Catcher The incubator warms sample cuvettes to 37 degrees Celsius during sample processing and holds 36 cuvettes. The tube supply catcher moves new cuvettes from the hopper to dispensing table B during sample processing. After sample is added to the cuvette, the tube supply catcher moves the sample cuvette to the incubator for warming. Of the 20 channels, 8 can also be used for aggregation assays. The detector is maintained at 37° Celcius.
